摘要
The effect of biphenyl on the splay and bend elastic contents of the 4, 4'-n-octyl-cyanobiphenyl was analyzed. The effect of the non mesogenic solute on the rotational viscosity coefficient of cyanobiphenyl was also investigated. The measurement of the voltage dependence on the capacitance of a cell filled with mixture was employed for the analysis. The presence of the rigid, nonpolar and nonmesogenic solute biphenyl resulted in a change in the effective rotational viscosity coefficient, dielectric and anisotropy and the splay elastic constant.
