On the optimal design and experiment of a broadband matching network for a VHF/UHF antenna

A study of a broadband matching network for a VHF/UHF antenna is made. First, a new optimal-designing approach is presented, which combines the genetic algorithm (GA) and the simulating annealing method (SA). Second, the problem due to the variation of value of a lumped component in VHF/UHF frequency band is solved. Finally, based on the above method, a broadband matching network for an omnidirectional broadband miniature antenna, with VSWR<3.0 in 30-450 MHz, is designed and manufactured, and the calculated results are in good agreements with the experimental results.
