A automobile thermal air flowmeter performance test platform was constructed to study a certain domestic thermal air flowmeter analyzing influence of the relative angle between grille and metal wire on its flow rate and test accuracy. It is revealed that the grille relative angle is one of the key structural parameters influencing them. In different fan speeds, air flow rates reach maximum at the grille relative angles of 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°, but test accuracy is not highest; in different fan speeds, the grille relative angle for highest test precision changes in a certain range, when setting the grille relative angle in range of 13°~17°, trade-off between air flow rate and test accuracy can be obtained, ensuring both highe test precision and larger flow rate in the same time.
