Numerical investigations of kink-antikink scattering and breather formation in a topological φ4 lattice were performed. It was indicated by the results that even though the topological discrete systems were quite accurate for studying free kinks in coarse lattices, for dynamical kink problems the accuracy was restricted to fine lattices. It was concluded that these lattices were not suitable for the study of more general kink dynamics.
