Virtual reality as an element of development and testing. The development of production systems with parallel kinematics demands a great deal of experience and places great demands on the design and testing of machine elements and components. In drawing up the structure and in the design of parallel kinematics, a constant exchange of data between simulation, design and testing as well as the possibility of continual visualisation of the development data is of great importance. Through the integration of virtual reality (VR) methods, the interactive communication of all persons involved in the development process can supplement existing CAD design methods and simulation strategies. For this purpose, the means of generating a development platform for production systems with parallel kinematics is being realised.
