Simulation of pattern in a cross-diffusive predator-prey system with the Allee effect

In this paper, we consider a cross-diffusive predator-prey system where the prey growth is damped by Allee effect. In the case without cross diffusion effect, there is nonexistence of self-diffusion-driven instability for the model. And in the case with cross diffusion effect, the positive equilibrium may be unstable under certain conditions. Furthermore, we present novel numerical evidence of time evolution of patterns controlled by cross-diffusion in the model, and find that the model dynamics exhibits a cross-diffusion controlled formation growth to spots, stripes, holes. This may enrich the pattern formation in predator-prey model with Allee effect. Copyright © 2014 Binary Information Press.
