Wärmepumpen ermöglichen den Ersatz van Brennstoffen durch Umgebungswärme. Deshalb werden sie in der Wärmeversorgung seit mehr als 50 Jahren als technische Alternative gesehen. Im Rahmen der Energiewende können Wärmepumpen einen entscheidenden Beitrag leisten und in der Wärmeversorgung bis zu 50 % des heutigen fossilen Gesamtenergieverbrauchs ersetzen.
