RNA secondary structure prediction is a key issue for computational biology, and may meta-heuristic algorithms are applied to solve it. In this paper, a new variant of bat algorithm, binary-coded centroid bat algorithm, is designed, with this manner, one centroid strategy is employed to increase the local search capablity. To test the performance, it is applied to solve the prediction of RNA secondary structure problem. Simulation results show it is validity. Copyright © 2014 American Scientific Publishers.
