The delay in the starting up of a new packaging paper machine at the Andradina mill of Citroplast is discussed. Low sales prices from packaging papers and poor demand in Brazil in 2003 forced the firm to halt work on the new machine. The PM has a design capacity of 120,000 tonnes/year of kraft paper and corrugated medium. The unit was revamped in 2003 when a new steam system was installed on another machine.
