The advantages of switching to prepaint, as experienced by coil coaters are discussed. Switching to prepaint eliminates costs, reduces capital outlay and improves quality. The uniformity of cleaning and pre-treatment, as well as the typical two-coat prepaint system where the coating is tightly bonded to the metal, make prepaint a better option. Prepaint takes education and training and requires different handling, with clean and polished dies.
