Key technique, basis principle and system architecture of the multi-service atmospheric laser communication system were demonstrated from the semiconductor laser modulation, the photo detection, transmission of voice signal and compressed image. A set of 20 Mbps, 1 km atmospheric laser communication equipment in full-duplex mode was developed. It could achieve the bidirectional transiting of phone, data and image. Connecting to the telephone line transmission system, 10 channels telephone switching systems were realized. The compound interface between digital signal and voice was implemented in FPGA. The system was rich in peripheral interface, including parallel and serial port. Transmission of one channel data and binary channel MPEG-2 image were achieved. And its experiment results showed that the system could implement the communication with stability. So its developing will play an important role in practical equipment's popularizing.
