Over the years, considerable work has been undertaken to develop measures to counter corrosion in the chemical industry and in other sectors. However, corrosion problems are not normally associated with simple mechanisms but instead occur as a result of a complex combination of multiple causes. This report outlines the development and application of electrochemical corrosion sensors to detect faults and improve maintenance management in chemical process plants.
