摘要
Aging is marked by visible signs such as dehydrated skin, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and reduced elasticity. The underlying causes of the aforementioned problems include diminished collagen, elastin production, oxidative stress, and slowed skin cell renewal. Recent advancements in microneedle (MN) technology offer promising solutions for anti-aging treatments by enabling precise transdermal delivery of bioactive compounds. This review explores the methodologies involved in MNs design and fabrication, including techniques such as photolithography and 3D printing, as well as micro-molding strategies for incorporating therapeutic agents. We discuss the advantages of microneedles (MNs) over traditional injection methods, emphasizing their ability to penetrate the epidermis and deliver potent substances like growth factors and antioxidants that enhance collagen synthesis and skin hydration. Additionally, we highlight emerging trends, including the integration of microfluidics for personalized skincare applications, and recent innovations that facilitate the incorporation of anti-aging and moisturizing agents into MNs. By providing a versatile platform for targeted delivery, MNs represent a significant advancement in the quest for effective anti-aging therapies.
