Battery production and the necessary raw materials are costintensive, which is why minimising production scrap is becoming increasingly important. During electrode assembly by shear cutting, waviness can occur in the cutting edge area, which negatively influence downstream process steps. For this purpose, process parameters on the equipment side are investigated to determine their correlation with the waviness and a procedure for quality assessment is implemented. © 2022, VDI Fachmedien GmBH & Co.
