摘要
The experiments showed that at any possible cytoplasm acidification oxygen consumption is increased due to growing energy expenditures for removing protons from the cell. Under certain conditions, in particular, at artificial pH-stating of cytoplasm with carnosine, these expenditures can be lowered. Apparently, the cytoplasm's buffer capacity is an important component of pH-stating.
