Selection of suitable aluminum alloys, for several applications, requires a basic knowledge of heat treatment, corrosion resistance, and primarily, mechanical properties. In this study, properties of high strength aerospace aluminum alloys that are necessary for aluminum alloy selection are determined, and a computer program is developed to assist in selection of proper aluminum alloys. According to user's descriptions, the computer program determines required properties, searches database, and selects suitable aluminum alloys.
