Rotor critical speed calculation based on a mixed modeling method

Using a mixed model of lumped parameter method and distributed mass method, the mechanical model of a rotor-bearing system was established. Based on Riccati transfer matrix method, the affecting factors of gyroscopic moment, supporting stiffness and shear deformation were taken into account, then a transfer matrix expression of the mixed model was deduced. A user-friendly, simple operation, strong extension and general rotor critical speed calculation program was developed with VB software. Examples were used to check the program as well. The calculation results showed that the proposed mixed modeling method is effective and has a higher precision.
