摘要
Based on 866 IT professionals in 35 state agencies, companies and universities in China, the methodology of MANCOVA is used to analyze the generational and intergenerational differences of work values. The results show among Chinese IT professionals, leisure, extrinsic and intrinsic values have increased steadily over the generations, are higher among the New Generation than among the Cultural Revolution, also are higher among the 1990s than among the 1980s. On social and altruistic values of IT workers, no significant differences exist either between the generations or within the New Generation. Based on the research results, management strategies customized to IT employees are put forward.
