For some years now, the technology has been available to remove organic constituents of nickel plating baths, and their breakdown products, from solution. This is accomplished by a continuous circulation of the electrolyte through a filter and special adsorber unit. By this means, the TOC value can be held within set limits. By development of new brightening additives, it was possible to optimize the operation in that the life of the bath was significantly increased and the consumption of chemicals reduced.
