摘要
Objective: To compare and analyze the efficacy of minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO) and open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) in treatment of distal tibial fracture. Methods: The relevant literatures at home and abroad were retrievedby computer in Pubmed, Embase, the Cochrane Collaboration, Chinese Biomedical Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data and VIP information database, and by manual searching in orthopaedic magazines in both Chinese and English. The articles including the comparison of the efficacy of MIPPO and ORIF in treatment of distal tibial fracture were collected and conducted meta analysis via Rev Man 5.2 software. Results: A total of eight studies including 603 patients were eligible for final analyses. Results of meta analysis indicated that the operative time, intraoperative blood loss and hospital stays of MIPPO group were significantly less than those of ORIF group (P <0.05). However, the two groups had no significant difference in the comparisons of healing time, incidence of adverse events related to bone healing, and excellent and good rate of J-W function evaluation (P >0.05). Conclusion: Both MIPPO and ORIF had good curative effect in treatment of distal tibial fracture. Nevertheless, MIPPO had more advantages in decreasing the surgical injury and saving medical expenses. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.
