摘要
Special lubricant compounds have been designded for rolling and plain bearings subject to high loads in order to ensure lifetime lubrication by means of completely dry lubricants. The main advantages of such lubricants are clean and non-drip lubrication and no change in consistency or viscosity up to temperatures of 550 °C. How do these compounds work? Before the bearings are put into operation the pasty compound is filled into the bores of the plain bearings or the free space of the rolling bearing. Once the compound has hardened and bearings been subjected to a special pre-treatment, small but sufficient quantities of the compound chalks off thus separating the surfaces in contact. The chalking quantity is constant within a certain margin. Excessive chalking would entail risks like bearing jamming, while insufficient chalking would mean increased wear caused by starved lubrication. We present relevant fields of application, test rig and field test results which prove that dry lubricants achieve lifetime lubrication in specific applications.
