Purification technology used in CO2-rich natural gas is facing a double challenge in temperament and exhaust gas emission standards. On the basis of reviewing, the current technical status of removing CO2 from that natural gas at home and abroad, the existing problems in purification technology were analyzed, such as large recycling volume of active methyldiethanolamine (aMDEA) solution, high energy consumption of the unit, immature pressure swing adsorption (PSA) and membrane separation integrated technology and so on. Then new directions of the research on activator, optimization of operating process and parameters, PSA and membrane separation integrated technology were proposed in order to form a series of matching technology suitable to purification of CO2-rich natural gas and boost its development efficiently in China. ©, 2015, Science Press.
