On deformation of a circular crack under nonaxisymmetric loading

摘要
The plastic deformation constraint on a mode I circular crack front is studied when the non-axisymmetric loading acts along the crack plane. It is shown that normal stresses in the plastic zone are a function of the polar angle and the external stresses. Constraint maximum is reached at those points of the crack front along tangent to which the largest external tensile stresses act.
