An efficiency of refining Al melt in mold with the use of small-waste filtration technology, providing high refining from nonmetallic and gas inclusions, is estimated. The foam ceramic filters, made of low-cost wastes of the metallurgical and chemical productions, are used. The technological regimes and parameters of filtration of AK5M2 alloy are given. Computer simulation of filtration hydrodynamics is implemented to determine the optimum arrangement of filter in the pouring system during manufacture of the valuable castings. The foam ceramic filter usage enables to suppress a negative structural heredity in system of /charge material-melt-casting'.
