Nowadays, PCE is chosen as typical DNAPLs and is injected into a two-dimensional sandbox. Modified light reflection method has been used to investigate PCE migration and quantify the distribution of PCE saturation. The results show that PCE moves mainly downward in homogeneous saturated porous media on condition of natural water flow velocity. PCE phase moves mainly downward by gravity. When reaching fine sand, PCE extends laterally and forms pools due to permeability barriers. Infiltration and distribution of PCE saturation obtained by MLRM match the experiment results well except at the beginning of infiltration. This paper shall facilitate further study of the DNAPL migration behavior in the heterogeneous porous media.
