Screening indices and Search Strategy for AC-DC Hybrid Receiving-end Power Grid Cascading Failures Based on Hybrid Electromechanical-electromagnetic Simulation

The existing AC-DC cascading failures screening indices and simulation methods can not accurately reflect the AC-DC coupling and DC transient process, which makes it difficult to obtain the accurate cascading failures evolution path. Therefore, this paper proposes the novel screening indices and search strategy for AC-DC cascading failures based on hybrid electromechanical-electromagnetic simulation. First, based on PSD-PSModel, the hybrid simulation model of AC-DC hybrid receiver power grid is constructed. Secondly, considering the AC-DC coupling and DC control, the multi-infeed AC-DC interaction factor (MIADIF) and Continuous Commutation Failure time window (CCFTW) are proposed, which can effectively reflect the influence of AC faults on the transient process of key state variables of multi-infeed systems, and improve the accuracy of AC fault search. Then, an search strategy for AC-DC cascading failures is proposed based on the screening indices and hybrid simulation to realize the fast, accurate and comprehensive search of AC-DC cascading failures. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed indices and search strategy is verified by test simulation based on Shanghai AC-DC hybrid receiving-end power grid. ©2023 Chin.Soc.for Elec.Eng.
