Trying to cut energy use, costs and improve environmental credentials is not always easy, not least because of the time it takes for the cost savings to show up on the bottom line. However, here a manufacturer of water fittings and valves explains how they are saving 20% of the energy costs of a large injection moulding machine, which rely on hydraulic pumps, following the fitting of an ABB variable-speed drive. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd.
