Profibus - Service and maintenance

Profibus (Process Field Bus) is now a standard for fieldbus communication. The Profibus is used in many areas of process automation and contributes to the economic success of companies. Does Profibus now also need to be considered when determining service and maintenance intervals? Does it make any sense to maintain electronic components, or can these be ignored?
