In order to realize the power supply demand for the wireless sensor network in pneumatic systems, a gas-actuated piezoelectric and extra-manifold energy harvester with excellent sealing performance was designed. The test system for energy capture characteristics was built. The piezoelectric energy harvester took the alternating gas pressure generated in the reversing process as the excitation. The performance of the energy harvester was investigated by analyzing the peak voltage and peak power at different pressure and load resistance. The results show that the peak voltage generated by the piezoelectric material will increase with the increase of the impact pressure. When the load resistance is raised, the peak voltage will increase and the boost time will be extended. The peak power will be at higher values when the load resistance is in the range of 70 kΩ to 5 500 kΩ. The peak power can reach 90.03 μW at pressure of 0.4 MPa. © 2021, Editorial Board of Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. All right reserved.
