Mg-Li alloys, possessing excellent comprehensive properties, i.e., high specific strength, high specific stiffness, good thermal conductivity, good electromagnetic shielding and damping properties, have an application potentiality in wide fields of aerospace, weapon equipment, electronic and automotive industry, etc. In this paper, the research progress of alloying and application of Mg-Li alloy, including untangling the influence of alloying elements on the alloys, were reviewed, its application, problems and research direction were discussed. © 2021, China Science Publishing & Media Ltd.
