The presented compact ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna has a particularity to filtering two band, the WiMAX (3.4 GHz) as well as WLAN (5.7 GHz). This functionality can be achieved by using only one complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) etched into the diamond radiation element. The antenna is designed, simulated, and built on a Rogers RO4003 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.4. It has a compact size with an overall dimension of 26 × 30 × 1.52 mm3. Moreover, the antenna exhibits good filtering with some variation between the simulations and measurement results due to manufacturing defects. In addition, the antenna is compared to state-of-the-art structures that have been proposed in the literature. © 2021 by Begell House, Inc.
