摘要
Fenton oxidation is currently recognized as one of the most effective methods for organic wastewater treatment. And exploration on its reaction mechanism is crucial for the development and application of efficient Fenton processes. However, the mechanism is not fully clarified yet due to the complexity of Fenton reaction. In this review, the reaction mechanisms of homogeneous Fenton, photo-Fenton, electro-Fenton and heterogenetic Fenton in removal of organic pollutants were summarized to help researchers and engineers gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the Fenton reaction mechanism in different systems, thus providing theoretical support for the development of Fenton reaction. Finally, the future development directions of Fenton process were discussed. © 2023 Fine Chemicals. All rights reserved.
