The article describes ways to improve the technical condition of bearings working in Yankee cylinders. Bearings are elements commonly used in industrial machines. They transfer loads from the rotating element to the machine body. The correct operation of the bearings largely determines the efficiency of the machine. Constant monitoring of their technical condition reduces the risk of unplanned downtime. Planned corrective (service) actions are possible in this case. Harsh operating conditions of the bearings impose the use of appropriate lubrication methods and lubricants to maintain high production efficiency. High-temperature and corrosive environments can affect calculated bearing life. The article presents the temperature distribution in the bearing node during machine start-up and during its normal operation. © 2020, Wydawnictwo SIGMA-NOT. All rights reserved.
