摘要
Awaterborne polyurethane polymeric dye was prepared with isophorone diisocyanate as hard segment, polyethylene glycol 1000 as soft segment,1,4-butanediol as chain extender, and congo red as chromophore, respectively. And then, the waterborne polyurethane polymeric dye was applied onto cotton fabrics via coating to develop a smart textile with pH responsive property. The structures and color properties of the polymer dye were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectrum. Also, the pH responsive properties of the polymer dye and its coated cotton fabrics were discussed in detail. Results show that the maximum absorption wavelength of the polymeric dye shows a bathochromic shift of 12 nm. As the pH of the polymeric dye solution decreases, its maximum absorption wavelength shifts from 510 nm to 605 nm and the peak widens, accompanied with the color changing from red to bluish violet, because the structure of congo red after amino pro-tonation transfers into quinoid structure. In addition, the polymeric dye coated cotton fabric gradually turns blue at pH<3,shows significant pH responsive behavior, high sensitivity, good reversibility and long-term stability, and can be repeatedly applied in testing dyeing wastewater. © 2023 Cailiao Daobaoshe/ Materials Review.
