摘要
Passive Intermodulation (PIM) distortion is a major problem in current and future mobile communication systems that limits cell coverage and data rates. PIM distortion results in weak intermodulation products and may only grow to significant levels as passive components age or corrode. Hence, PIM is very difficult to diagnose, troubleshoot and model. The primary goal of this paper is to develop a behavioral model for passive nonlinearities in a two-carrier FDD wireless system which enables digital cancellation of third order intermodulation products to be realized. The simulation results show that the proposed model accurately predicts PIM and provides a cancellation of up to 50 dB for the third order intermodulation products in an LTE system. © 2022, Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering.
