In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the closure of educational institutions across the world, and India was no exception. The IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Student Branch Chapter (SBC) at the Indian Institute of Technology BHU (ITT BHU) Varanasi arranged eight webinars covering a broad range of microwave engineering topics from radio astronomy to chip design to motivate young researchers. The first six webinars were coorganized by Numeregion Technology, a newly founded startup company for simulating the electromagnetics problems. A few of the webinars were also streamed via Facebook Live and YouTube Live to accommodate more than 200 attendees. All of the talks were followed by lengthy discussions. All of the webinars were successful due to the efforts of the volunteers of the IEEE MTT-S SBC IIT BHU Varanasi.
