A DESIGN OF COMPACT MICROWAVE DIPLEXER IN MICROSTRIP TECHNOLOGY BASED ON BAND-STOP FILTERS USING STEPPED IMPEDANCE RESONATOR

The proposed study is the design of a compact microwave diplexer based on the use of a stepped impedance resonator (SIR). The diplexer consists of two band-stop filters operating at 2.5 and 1.8 GHz for application in 4G. Theoretical design and simulation determine the size and location of the SIR and feeder lines. With a dielectric permittivity of 4.4 and a thickness of 1.6 mm, FR-4 is used as the substrate material. The choice of this topology was very useful because it allowed us to realize a selective diplexer with good insertion loss and better rejection, which allowed us to obtain a high level of isolation. The efficiency of the diplexer is studied numerically using the High Frequency Electromagnetic Simulation Software (HFSS) Version 14.0.0 tools. A prototype diplexer with a structural area of (60.3894 × 154.8390 = 9350.63 mm2) has been developed using a conventional printed circuit board (PCB) design method. The simulation results of the proposed circuit show that the measured results are in good agreement with the results from the circuit. © 2022 by Begell House, Inc
