Fluorite has long been a favorite focus among mineral collectors because it is usually colorful with a large palette available from many localities around the world, and it commonly occurs as crystals of such a size that they can be appreciated at a bit of a distance when presented in a display cabinet. Another appealing aspect of fluorite is that it typically occurs as translucent to utterly limpid crystals.
