摘要
In this study, beneficiation of low-grade barite ores (Kozan/Adana) was investigated using jig and shaking table to produce filler quality barite concentrate, then the concentrate obtained by jigging also was used for flotation and chemical leaching experimental work producing chemical grade barite. Run-of-mine ore samples used in the experimental study, were taken from the mine stockpile area of SDS Madencilik Ltd. Şti. (Kozan/Adana) according to the representative sampling principles. The run-of-mine ore classified in the size ranges of -15+10 mm, -10+6 mm and -6+3 mm were used for jigging tests, while the ore in size ranges of -3+2 mm, -2+1 mm and -1 mm were used for the shaking table tests. Also, the jigging concentrate after wet grinding with a ball mill (d100=0.5 mm) was used for flotation and chemical leaching tests. BaSO4 content, whiteness and specific gravity of the concentrates obtained in each experiment were determined by standard methods. The best concentrate (96.12% BaSO4; 72.2% Whiteness Value and 4.2 g/ cm3 density) with properties comparable to the commercially produced filler barite quality was obtained after jigging. As a result of the experimental studies, a possible beneficiation process flowsheet was formed for this type of barite ores. © 2021 Union of Chambers of Engineers and Architects of Turkey.
