摘要
This paper focuses on the second generation intact stability criteria of surf-riding/broaching failure mode under drafting by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and elaborates the detailed assessment procedure of latest draft regulation to develop a numerical code. Then, taking a purse seiner as the ex- ample, the calm water resistance model towing test is performed, and influence of the input parameters on the stability evaluation result is studied, including calm water resistance, propeller thrust coefficients and so on. It is shown that the calm water resistance has large influence on the result while other parameters only have secondary effect. This study can provide some guidance for IMO to finalize the new generation regulation, and for ship designers to cope with the new regulation. © 2020, Editorial Board of Journal of Ship Mechanics.
