摘要
This study looks at the effectiveness of handout notes in a General Chemistry course at a two-year college. To help increase student participation in class, handout notes were made available 48 hour in advance. Entry quizzes measured student's preparedness for class session whereas exit quizzes measured effectiveness of discussion session. Student poll showed 59% of students considered handout notes to have been very effective in helping them prepare for class session. Performance on entry quizzes, engaged discussion groups, and willingness to work problems on the board supported students' belief that handout notes were very effective in preparing for lecture session. © 2019 American Chemical Society.
