摘要
Detonation combustion is a combustion type that the shock wave is highly coupled with the reaction zone propagating at supersonic velocity. The detonation–based power propulsion system has the significant theory superior⁃ ity, which is one of the vital development directions of the future aerospace technology. Continuous rotating detonation engine is one of the engineering applications of detonation combustion, with the obvious advantage over the high ad⁃ aptation, short combustor length, and high thrust performance. It is expected to promote the significant development of aerospace power technology. This paper starts from the classical detonation theory, and then summarizes the re⁃ lated fundamental investigations of rotating detonation combustion. Subsequently, the recent progresses of engineer⁃ ing application on rotating detonation engine are introduced. And the development history of National University of De⁃ fense Technology on rotating detonation engine is reviewed and summarized. Last, the development and expectation of rotating detonation engine are proposed based on the current researches. © 2023 AAAS Press of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
