After the peak period of offshore oilfield construction in China, some of the facilities start ageing, which leads to a high demand for decommissioning offshore platform. It is particularly the case in the Shengli Chengdao oil field. In this paper, we mainly focus on various cutting technologies and disposal features of subsea structure. Aspects that should be considered in the scheme of platform disposal has been highlighted, accompanied by the relevant national laws and regulations on offshore platform disposal. © 2019, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China.
