The economic the role utilisation world. in meeting fossil Gas of processing the fuel natural increased is increasing gas plantsas naturala clean play throughout gas aand crucial demand, while recovering valuable natural gas liquids (NGLs) as feedstock to petrochemical complexes or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel and exports. The historically cyclic nature of the demand for ethane, product recovery flexibility, and the ability to respond readily to ethane market conditions have been major considerations for operators and designers of these gas plants. The most common reasons for this liquid product flexibility are ethane price volatility and future ethane demand. While both of these objectives require the flexibility to reject ethane, the extent of ethane rejection, how often, and the timeline could differ significantly, and needs to be considered by designers. © 2021 Palladian Publications.
