摘要
Based on the influence of vortices on cavitation, the SST-CC turbulence model with rotation correction and a modified Zwart cavitation model with vortex recognition correction were used to calculate the internal cavitating vortical flow in a water-jet pump impeller. The hydraulic characteristics and cavitation phenomena of the water-jet pump under different cavitation numbers were analyzed, and different vortex identification methods were applied to identify the cavitating vortical flow. It is revealed that the calculated performance parameters such as head, power and efficiency of the water-jet pump and cavitation phenomena in the impeller are in good accordance with the referenced experimental results. The vapor content in the cavitation area near the blade surface and blade tip clearance were analyzed. In the light of identification of cavitating vortices in tip clearance of the water-jet pump, the pressure criterion, vorticity criterion, Q criterion, λ2 criterion and dimensionless Ω criterion were compared, and the contribution of vortical flow to the cavitation formation was revealed. © 2022, Editorial Board of Journal of Ship Mechanics.
