摘要
Cobalt oxide (CoO) nanoparticles have great potential in chemical and industrial sectors, specifically for fabricating energy storage devices. In this research, we have synthesised CoO nanocrystalline films by spray pyrolysis technique at room temperature followed by annealing at 150 and 300 °C. We have studied the influence of annealing on particle size, optical and magnetic properties of the CoO. Phase transition and nanocomposites of the CoO films were analysed by X-ray diffraction and SEM, and the as-deposited films were polycrystalline with random distribution in nature. In particular, the nanocrystalline films of cubic rock salt structure with the thickness ranging from 52 to 54 μm were attained under annealing. The particle size of the films increases from 26.1 to 34.8 nm with respect to the reduction of band gap from 3.2 to 3 eV, respectively. The uniform distribution of metal and its oxide nanoparticles exhibits a high saturation magnetisation (Ms) with antiferromagnetic super exchange nature. © 2017, © 2017 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
