摘要
Acai (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) is a typical fruit of the Amazon region that annually generates many tons of acai seeds. In this study, the thermogravimetric analysis of this residue was performed to determine the kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the pyrolysis process for its energy recovery. The thermogravimetric curves were determined in the range of 30–900 °C under inert atmosphere, at different heating rates of 5, 10, 15 and 20 °C.min−1. Kinetic analysis was performed using Flynn-Wall-Ozawa (FWO) and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS) iso-conversional models. The results showed that the acai seed's activation energy was 159.12 kJ/mol and 157.62 kJ/mol, which was calculated by FWO and KAS, respectively. Thermodynamic parameters, such as ΔH, ΔG and ΔS, and the high heating value (21.1 MJ kg−1) showed that the acai seed is an excellent potential source of raw material for bioenergy production. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd
