摘要
For water entry of a projectile at small angle, the RANS equation-based CFD method together with multiphase flow VOF model and dynamic grid technology are applied to study the development of entering cavitation and change of the attitude of the projectile under different initial conditions, Effects of entry angle and attack angle on the stability of projectile are analyzed. It is found that at the initial entry stage, an asymmetric cavitation presents, and the wet area on the cone surface leads to positive attack angle, which will intensify asymmetry of the cavitation and result in jumping phenomenon of the projectile. With the increase of the entry angle, stability of the projectile is enhanced. Negative attack angle can enhance the entry stability of the projectile. Projectile stability will increase first and then decrease with positive attack angle. © 2022, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China. All right reserved.
