摘要
Furfural (FAL) and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) as biomass-based platform compounds are widely available and can be extracted from green plants. Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol (THFA) and 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydrofuran (BHTHF) preparation by hydrogenation of FAL and HMF shows great potential. In this review, recent research progresses on double bond hydrogenation of FAL and HMF are elaborated, and reaction mechanism of double bond hydrogenation is emphasized. Different catalytic systems (monometallic, alloy) for double bond hydrogenation are discussed, and prospects as well as future applications of the catalysts are outlined. © 2021, Editorial Board of "Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities".
