摘要
At present, there is no quick response or reliable detection method for commutation failure (CF) in HVDC systems. In order to solve this problem, the valve-side current that can be directly measured in practical project was used as research object. The CF process at HVDC inverter side was analyzed. The characteristics of valve-side current during CF was derived and 2 cases of the characteristics of valve-side current was summarized. A CF criterion based on the characteristics of valve-side current was proposed, and a CF detection method based on characteristics of valve-side current was designed. Taking CIGRE benchmark HVDC model as an example, CF detection module based on characteristics of valve-side current was established in PSCAD/ EMTDC. The simulation results showed correctness of the analysis of the characteristics of valve-side current during CF, and the proposed method can correctly and quickly detect CF occurrence. © 2019, Power System Technology Press.
